• Private 60–80 min. tour of Julia Child’s Kitchen & food history collections with Dame Paula Johnson, Curator at the National Museum of American History.

• Optional lunch at  Sweet Home Café | National Museum of African American History and Culture -- across the street from our afternoon tours. A ticket has been reserved for your optional museum tour there too.

• Exclusive book signing of Julia Child’s Kitchen by Paula Johnson. Can be purchased at the Smithsonian gift shop or at Dame Catie Gainor’s shop, Binding Agents in the Italian Market or online, to bring with you.

• Exclusive Dames Dinner

• Chef & Dame Johanna Hellrigl welcomes us to Ama, her acclaimed Northern Italian restaurant in Navy Yard.

• Indulge in a customized family-style meal while Johanna shares the stories behind her dishes.

• 2:00 pm & 3:30 pm | Dames’ museum tours (choose a slot)

• 5:30–7:30 pm | Dinner & Talk at Ama, Navy Yard

Travel & Cost

• Coordinated rides with other Dames or pre-book Amtrak (refundable Flex fares recommended), plus shared cars or cabs to and from dinner.

• $100 per person – includes a Smithsonian private tour and immersion, and Dames dinner. Note: dinner beverages, optional lunch, optional book purchase and travel are not included.
