Chef/Owner Georgina’s Private Chef and Catering
Nana is a first-generation Ghanaian American Chef, starting her career in Philadelphia where she attended culinary school at the Art Institute of Philadelphia and worked her way around the city’s best restaurants. After a 2 1/2 year stint working under Iron Chef Jose Garces at his various restaurants (Tinto/ Village Whiskey, Amada, and Ole Bar); Nana moved to NYC as part of the opening team for Amada NYC. She then moved on to work at most notably award-winning Le Cou Cou (Stephen Starr, Chef Daniel Rose collaboration), La Mercerie, and bartending at YN Natural Wine bar. While Nana’s 3 years at Le CouCou, she was featured in Bon Appetit and landed many opportunities including a 2-year visa to work in Paris with Chef Daniel Rose. Due to COVID, Chef Nana never made it to Paris and instead relocated back home to the Philadelphia area in hopes to revive her catering company, Georgina’s, lovingly named after her late maternal grandmother who taught her how to cook. In spite of facing the challenges of the uncertain future, Chef Nana launched a private intimate dinner series - Love That I Knead -where she pays homage to her grandmother and childhood favorites from her native Ghana.
