Taylor Nickens

Taylor is the Founder and CEO of Rise Ritual, Philadelphia’s first tea house and apothecary, located in West Philly. A certified herbalist and yoga teacher with over twelve years of study in plant and traditional medicine, Taylor’s training includes formal research at the NIH, PCOM, Jefferson University, Rothman University, and Vancouver General Hospital, followed by direct study under healers in Mexico, Peru, and across the United States. Rise & Ritual opened its West Philadelphia storefront in January 2026 and was named Best Herbal Apothecary in Philadelphia Magazine’s Best of Philly 2026.

Taylor is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs One Million Black Women in Business program and completed the BSmart program through Vested In at Drexel University.

Prior to Rise & Ritual, Taylor served as Director of Events for REC Philly and Urban Creators, bringing over a decade of experiential design and hospitality production to her work today. Taylor also serves as Board President of the Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance (PACA).
